Welcome to Money? What Money?

Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to Moneywhatmoney.co.uk (a Shifty Horse Investment Trust). This website is designed to take you on a journey through the trials and tribulations of our investment club. The ‘club’ was first thought of way back in November where a group of us decided it would be a bit of a laugh and possibly make us some money.

The 3 founding members are Nick, Ben and I (Scott) have known each other for circa ten years and have shared many hair-brained schemes. A few young enterprise companies and fantasy share accounts later we all ended up at uni. Nick takes on the challenge that is MechEng, Ben “studies” Law and I muck about for 5 days week and ‘study’ sports journalism for the other 2. With our hectic schedules it wasn’t difficult to sort out a regular meeting time.

Thanks to that we actually get some serious share dealing stuff done. We aim to outperform the FTSE by an amount yet to be decided over a twelve month period and will reinvest all the profits. If I can find it I will post Bens marvellous ‘4 year forecast’ where we make £7 million over 4 years (the program had a few flaws, I think the first one was the expected percentage profit was 100% every 2 months and the second that Ben wrote it).

Over the next 12 months we will document our decision making processes and their outcomes and undoubtedly there will be a smattering of slight randomness. Gambling tips, ramblings and – possibly philosophically- musings will all most definitely appear. Under no circumstances should you follow any of the advice given in those articles – apart from the share stuff because most of that is fairly sound. Even then we accept no responsibilities for ours or your actions.

The Doghouse:
The Metro? Really?

This weeks doghouse goes go Scott. Not only did he get a stock tip out of the metro, in a written report he then handed out he admitted he couldn't find a particular figure but i quote "It was a big number, tis somewhere in last Mondays metro". Pathetic.

That said, in all fairness, the stock (Majestic Wine, MJW) is now on our probable buy list, he still gets the doghouse for admitting his source.

Ben.

In my defence it was actually Thursdays Metro.
